The threshold
There is a house at the end of a road
It appears on no map. You reach it when something stops fitting and you begin to ask. Whoever opens the door does not hand you answers: they offer you a cup of tea.
This website is the house
MING is not a loose app nor an oracle with good taste. It is a house with rooms: a workshop where things are calculated, a library where one reads, a journal written in every week, a mailbox from which a letter goes out when it is due. Every page of this site is one of those rooms. There is no need to go through all of them, or in any particular order: a house is lived in, not visited.
What those walls hold is a very old idea, said in a low voice: destiny doesn't shout. It whispers. The maps used here — the four pillars, the ten stems, the twelve guardians, the five elements — are for recognizing yourself, not for obeying them. Destiny speaks; you decide.
The rooms that are open
They are built and you can use them right now, no account and no cost:
The Workshop — the tools. Your four pillars chart, the twelve guardians, the five elements, compatibility, the lunar calendar, the compass of directions and the energy of the day.
The Library — the books by Maestro Zhi. The first is Destiny Speaks to You. Twelve cups with Maestro Zhi, and you can read The First Cup for free before deciding anything.
The Journal — short reflections on the climate of the day and on how to read a map without becoming its prisoner.
The house in your pocket — the MING app, which calculates your chart, shows you your hours of power each morning, and keeps a log of your cycles. You download it from here.
The Whisper — Maestro's periodic letter, by email. It is asked for at the threshold and you can stop opening it whenever you like.
Who lives here
The Maestro Zhi is the host: the one who lights the lamp, pours the tea, and does not ask your birth date until you have sat down. He is a fictional character; the tradition he carries is five thousand years old and real.
Mò (墨, "ink") is the bicolored cat who sleeps wherever he finds sun. He arrived one rainy morning, stayed without asking permission, and stands for the only promise this house keeps: looking without controlling. He is not a brand mascot; he is the guardian of the threshold.
What is still to be furnished
A house is never finished, it is inhabited. The rooms still under construction stay open: Lady Yue's Gardens, with music to slow the pace down, and Uncle Fu's Bazaar, with the objects that come out of these stories. They are announced right here when there is something to show, not before.
How to visit
No appointment and no sign-up. If you come curious, sit down and calculate your four pillars: that is the fastest door. If you come to read, start with The First Cup. If you come to return, keep The Whisper.
And if you were only passing by: there is no obligation to come in. Sometimes it is enough to know the house is there, with the light on and the tea warm, for whichever day it takes.
"You thought you were walking into a house. You were walking into yourself."
The tea is served
Come in, sit down, look at your chart. Then decide whether you come back.
